View my IP address

If you have to point your domain to your Managed WordPress site or connect to it with an FTP client, you'll need your site's IP address. Here's how to find the IP address:

Note: If you're using a temporary domain (Example: XXX.myftpupload.com), your DNS is managed by the platform. This means you must assign your custom domain to your Managed WordPress account before you can see the IP address in your dashboard.

  1. Go to your Wurk product page
  2. In your My Products page, next to Managed WordPress, select Manage All.
  3. For the website you want to use, select Settings from the  menu.
  4. On the Settings tab and under Production Site, select Show more.
  5. Locate IP address and then select Copy.

Limits on editing files in Managed WordPress

Hackers love exploiting and defacing WordPress sites, which makes security a priority for everyone using WordPress. To help make Managed WordPress accounts as hack-proof as possible, we impose strict, security-oriented limitations on which files are editable.

This feature means you can only edit the following files on Managed WordPress accounts:

  • Files within the folder /wp-content
  • wp-config.php
  • .htaccess
  • favicon.ico

You can also edit any directories or files you upload yourself, such as a .user.ini file.
